Termite Soldier & Workers

Termites also known as White Ants

Whether your house is made of wood, brick or stone, Termites can find a way inside. They construct shelter-tubes through foundation cracks and expansion joints, around plumbing and conduit pipes, along slab exterior, behind dry walls and anywhere wood meets the ground. Knowing what to look for can be difficult, which is why the expertise of a reputable company like SWAT is important. Don’t hesitate to contact us.

Termite Swarmers incorrectly known as Flying Ants

Probably the only time you will see live termites in numbers is when they swarm. If a large number of swarmers or their discarded wings are found inside a building, it is a sure sign of termite infestation.

How to tell the difference between a Termite Swarmer and a Flying Ant

difference

Termites eat wood from the inside out, they usually hollow the wood out along the grain leaving only the paint. This can cause ripples or blisters on the paint and when you tap the wood it can have a hollow sound or break away. Other signs are mud shelter tubes going up the walls or filling in gaps in skirtings etc.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you see any of these signs or have any other queries. We cover PMB and surrounding areas.
